Outreach, Recruitment and Education Core
The Outreach, Recruitment and Engagement (ORE) Core is essential in addressing the current challenges with engaging and educating diverse and under-represented communities about Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD), opportunities to participate in research, and available services or resources. The ORE Core is crucial in identifying challenges and best practices for encouraging our diverse SC communities to learn and share information about healthy aging and ADRD. The ORE Core serves as a pertinent facilitator to connect established community partners with investigators, personnel and affiliates across the SC-ADRC cores to enhance the quality of their research project or clinical activity efforts.
The ORE Core fulfills the needs of the Center by serving as a pertinent facilitator to connect established community partners with investigators, personnel and affiliates across the SC-ADRC cores to enhance the quality of research projects or clinical activity efforts. Activities of the ORE Core are crucial for identifying barriers and best practices for encouraging our diverse SC communities to learn and share information about healthy aging and ADRD. These activities are intended to both serve the Center and to provide broad benefits to all stakeholders across the state.
-
We will raise public awareness about opportunities to engage in AD/ADRD biomedical research and research aimed at both the early detection and prevention of AD/ADRD as well as supporting individuals and families living with AD/ADRD. We will also work with researchers to enhance existing statewide AD/ADRD resources.
-
The registry will include insights into potential participants’ social determinants of health to promote diversity.
