Biography
Dr. Nietert is an applied biostatistician with 20+ years of experience collaborating on various clinical, translational, and basic science research teams. He has directed the Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) Program within the South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Center since its inception in 2009 and co-leads the ADRC Data Management and Statistical Core with Dr. Jihad Obeid. Dr. Nietert currently leads methodologic cores in rheumatic diseases and in digestive and liver diseases as well. He recently served as the Interim Chair of the Department of Public Health Sciences and is currently the Executive Vice Chair of that department. Methodological research interests include hierarchical data analysis, truncated distributions, and randomization in clinical trials.
