Biography

Naomi C. Brownstein is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Brownstein received her PhD and MS in biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after receiving a BS in Mathematics and BS in Actuarial Science from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Brownstein develops and applies methodology in a variety of statistical areas, such as clustering and survival analysis. As a member of the Collaborative Unit at MUSC, Dr. Brownstein collaborates with investigators throughout MUSC and beyond on a variety of topics in public health and medicine, such as tobacco control, cervical cancer screening, HPV vaccination, perinatal mental health, and speech pathology. Dr. Brownstein specializes in applying personalized statistical methods, whether routine or advanced and modern, to the individual projects of each collaborator.
